332 Days and Counting

Wow it has almost been one full year since I last posted. A lot of crazy stuff has happened since then, stuff that made it hard to post then and that will make it extremely difficult to post from now on. My last posting date looks like it's almost the same as my due date. Just off by one month.

We are on to bigger and better things. This blog was never anything that "special" just a place to post random things. Its a shame it will be officially coming to an end. It will be up just as a way for me to link to my favorite blogs.

I don't know if anyone will be reading this, but it was fun. Thanks for the chats and thanks for the good times and advice. I hope you enjoyed it just as much as I did.

the good with the bad

Lately I have been addicted to television, more so than I was when I was 7 and watching cartoons religiously. I find that if I am not home to catch one of my television shows I go ahead and set the VCR to tape it. I long for the days when TiVo makes it way here to Canada, well we kinda have a version of TiVo, but it's not the same because it's not TiVo.

In light of this addiction I decided to list my favorite shows in 2 lists, one that I am not ashamed to admitting to liking, the other, ones that are my guilty pleasure.

Cold Feet

So I haven't posted in exactly a month, and my reason is plain and simple, I've been going crazy. This summer is going to be a hectic one. I am taking a 2 month leave of absence in the beginning of July so that means that I have to bust my hump here at work to make sure that all the important things are done by June 30th. Not to mention all the running around that comes with planning a wedding, which I do not reccommend to anyone thinking of doing it. Elope! Take off. Run to Vegas, call Kat, and have her be your witness in a chapel next to the Golden Nugget, I am sure she will have no problem with it. So yes I have been a little busy, and really stressed. I can't wait till I get out of town for 2 or 3 weeks.

Now on to the good stuff. After this wedding is said and done, I get to leave for a long overdue vacation, and I am heading out west, al la Kid Rock. I'm excited!!! I finally get to spend part of my summer by a pier and near a boardwalk. I have always wanted to have one of those summers you could read about at 14 in and R.L. Stine mystery novel. You know the one, where 2 friends take off with thier families to a beach town for the summer and they hangout at the beach day and night and walk down the boardwalk eating ice cream and then they see a dead body floating in the water, yup, that one! I am excited! Really excited! Other than that I am quite nervous for this huge life change that's about to happen. No more coffees after work, now it will be making dinner after work. No more drinking late at clubs on the weekends. Now it will be drinking late on the weekends at home with friends. Which maybe isn't all that bad now that I think about it. No line ups for drinks when your pouring them yourself!

So anyway, I will be posting a lot more in the coming months, I promise, for the 3 people who read this blog :) I am off to pamper my cold feet and hopefully warm them up.

I've given you a lot of my money over the years, a lot. Mainly in the shape and form of a Kitchen Aid Mixer that I got for $500 at one of your few Toronto locations. Not to mention that nice Dutch Oven I bought as a wedding gift for someone that allowed me to leave behind $299 of my hard earned money. And believe me the list does not stop there.

So I find it rather frustrating and retarded that you will not ship something that I really, really, really want, that you by the way refuse to sell in your Canadian stores, to my home address in Canada. I will have to what? ship it to someone who lives in the US? and pay for it to be shipped there? and THEN pay to have it shipped to me from that person who in the US was kind enough to have me deliver something to them? so something that probably would have only cost me $65.00 CDN with the exchange and shipping will now cost me somewhere in the $80 - $100 range? I don't get it. I really don't.

Is it just me, or does anyone else think this is retarded??????

P.S. I now hate you. And you can keep your $600.00 braising pan I was going to buy.

Planning Something Shouldn't Be Hard

So I need some help. As some of you know I am heading out to LA in the coming months and I am having a hard time trying to plan this trip in regards to where I want to stay. So I need help from those of you who reside, have visited or used to live in the LA area.

I realize now that on my short venture out to LA (4 1/2 days, then I head to Las Vegas)I may not get to accomplish all I want to do. So this is where I need your help, I am not 100% sure how close things are to other things, such as, I want to stay in Santa Monica, but can I drive to Malibu and Hollywood in less than an hour? And if not, where is a good are to stay in so that I am close to Hollywood, Santa Monica (preferably the Pier and 3rd St Promenade), Los Angeles shopping (preferably Rodeo Drive and Fred Segal) and of course Malibu (I want to walk along the beach where all those lucky celebrities have homes). Oh and I want to have lunch at the Ivy.

So if anyone out there can help me with where I should get a hotel it would be greatly appreciated.

How do you measure a year?

2006 just started and I am already sticking to one of the things on my list. This year really does feel lucky. I know it's going to be a good one for all that deserve one. All that have had too many hardships in the past, too many financial worries, health scares, sadness and misfortune.

I know it's going to be a good year, regardless of all the other bullsh*t that is going to come your way, I promise that when you look back at the year this December 31st, you'll realize I was right.

Tomorrow would have been my grandmother's 93 birthday. Happy Birthday Nana, where ever you are. It still hurts.

Once again. Happy New Year. May these 365 days bring me one step closer to the Saturday Night Live stage.
